The debut novel from Bookstagram’s romance queen

Elena Armas

487 pages

If you have been using or have ever used bookstagram, then you are probably familiar with thebibliotheque. With her incredible beige photographs and romance quotes, its a page you simply can not miss. A few months back, she announced the name of her first novel, The Spanish Love Deception, and people could not have been more excited.

I’m not much of a romance reader but I jumped at the opportunity to support a fellow bookstagrammer and I was not disappointed. TSLD has a little bit of everything for everyone.

Catalina Martin has never had a great relationship with her colleague, Aaron Blackford. She remembers the time, she heard him tell their boss that he simply can’t work with her. So it comes as a surprise when Aaron offers to be her date to her sister’s wedding, a date she needs desperately.

The Spanish Love Deception - Bibliode Review

At 487 pages, you would think that a romance would get a little boring but it does not. Its not a linear book and a lot happens in those pages which keeps the excitement alive throughout. Lina accompanies Aaron to a charity event where she bids for a date with him with a fervor never seen before. Lina and Aaron have fish taco nights and in a typical romance style, have to share a bed.

The Spanish Love Deception is a better romance novel than most which get a lot of attention and you will definitely be missing out if you don’t pick it up. The only complaint – I was hoping for a little bit of their love blooming against Spain sightseeing which didn’t happen.
